T-Time with K & theSkimm

I can't remember exactly how I first stumbled upon theSkimm. But I knew from the moment I read this on their "about" page that this was something I wanted in my life:

"We see ourselves as a part of a generation where women are out-earning men in paychecks and degrees. We've grabbed our seats at the table, now it's time to Skimm to the head."

theSkimm is a news source that you can have emailed to you daily. The ladies at Skimm follow  big news stories around the world and shorten up those stories into fun and understandable blurbs that you can read every day to keep up with what's happening in the world.

The founders of theSkimm decided to start this venture after being long time friends and former NBC News producers.

They decided that a news source like this was necessary "after seeing a void in the marketplace for news and information geared towards our friends -- high earning, educated, busy women on the go," Danielle Weisberg, one of theSkimm's founders, told me.

The Daily Skimm emails are quirky and fun, but most importantly educational. As a total news junkie myself, finding theSkimm was like finding a goldmine. Even if you're not a news junkie, this source is perfect for you to read your news.

"The goal of theSkimm is to give you well rounded information so that you can confidently go about your day, no matter who you speak to," Danielle said.

With over 30,000 followers on Twitter and undoubtedly even more email subscribers, theSkimm is doing its job educating working individuals. But theSkimm has more things planned.

"theSkimm is focused entirely on growth this year -- that means scaling our team and user base. We are excited to continue to build the best email you can get each morning," Danielle said.

If you're not already subscribed to get daily updates from these ladies, get on it right away. This little addition to your mornings will make your day a little brighter and more connected.
