FFBC - December Book Reveal!

Hello, Forest Friends! It's going to be December tomorrow! How crazy is that? Every start of the month is pretty darn exciting because that means that we get to start reading a new book together.

This month we wanted to do a book that was YA, but something off of the beaten YA path. So we chose...

Grave Mercy, by Robin LaFevers, gained a lot of hype this year, even though it was published back in 2012. The sequel is already out, which is good news. Here's the GoodReads summary:
Seventeen-year-old Ismae escapes from the brutality of an arranged marriage into the sanctuary of the convent of St. Mortain, where the sisters still serve the gods of old. Here she learns that the god of Death Himself has blessed her with dangerous gifts—and a violent destiny. If she chooses to stay at the convent, she will be trained as an assassin and serve as a handmaiden to Death. To claim her new life, she must destroy the lives of others.

Ismae’s most important assignment takes her straight into the high court of Brittany—where she finds herself woefully under prepared—not only for the deadly games of intrigue and treason, but for the impossible choices she must make. For how can she deliver Death’s vengeance upon a target who, against her will, has stolen her heart?

Medieval setting? Intrigue? Mystery? Violence? Romance? Ninja nuns? This sounds like the perfect mixture. Due to the fact that this book came out almost a year ago, maybe some of you have already read it. But that doesn't mean you can't participate in this month's discussions! Jump right on in!

You have a week to get the book, be it a library borrow, an ebook, or a physical copy. We will start reading and release page numbers for each week next Friday.

Reminder: You can join our book club at any time. So, old friends and NEW friends, we welcome you!

Are you going to be participating in December's Forest Friends Book Club? Let us know in the comments!
