(and I mean everyone),
It has come to my attention that the majority of people today don’t believe in themselves. Now, you’re probably like me and reading this thinking, “Yeah right. I totally believe in myself, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
But I don’t know if that’s necessarily true. How often do you go through your life thinking something like, “I could never do that” or “That’ll never happen”? Let’s be real, all the time, right?
Right?! I’m not trying to say that I’m not guilty of this, because I am guilty about 139847 times a day (approximate number). It has somehow become our initial reaction to doubt ourselves.
It needs to stop.
Plain and simple, it’s just not acceptable.
Stop underestimating yourself. You are completely capable of accomplishing whatever you put your heart to, but it’s often our heads forcing us to immediately give up.
I know there’s merit in looking at things logistically and analyzing life is sometimes good. However, I think that we listen to logic a little too much.
For instance, let’s say your all-time dream is to be a writer. Logic comes in and tells you that statistically speaking, the probability of you becoming a published author is one in 5 million and that first you need to write a whole novel, then get an agent, then be rejected by 138 different publishing companies, then make 15 drafts of that same novel and then maybe someone will publish you but then no one will probably buy your book and--
This quickly becomes insanely overwhelming and downgrading so you just shut off. Instead of sitting down to write that book that very well could be published someday, you decide to not write anything at all.
Just because Debbie-downer Logic is telling you that your dreams can’t happen doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. In fact, it certainly won’t happen if you listen and decide to not do anything.
100% of reaching your dreams is all about just doing it in the first place.
So, my beautiful fellow human beings, stop underestimating yourself. You can do whatever it is that you dream of doing. Don’t let self-doubt and logic step in the way of doing.
Don’t Stop. Don’t Pause. Do.
