We’ve known each other for a bit of time, darling readers, but there is one thing I can’t believe I haven’t expressed: My love for costume design. No, I don’t design fabulous gowns or even wear them, but my eyes feast on their beauty. I know the detail of each dress and suit in my favorite films and TV shows. My wardrobe is a compilation of inspiration from certain characters, and today I thought I would share that with you! So, without further ado, here are the two characters that I currently channel when I stare into the mess of clothes in my closet:
Jessica Day (New Girl)
You best believe that I am a frequent reader of WWZDW (What Would Zooey Deschanel Wear). My sister even pinned a link to the website saying something along the lines of “I wonder if Allie knows about this?!” Psh. Way ahead of you sis!

The cardigans, pleated skirts, flats, and even the bunny ear phone cover (Yes, I have one – thanks again to my sister!) are staples in my wardrobe. I will be tuning in weekly to watch for not only what will happen between Nick and Jess next, but what she will be wearing when it happens.
Oh, and I also have the theme song as an alarm. Obsessed much?
Mary Margaret/Snow (Once Upon a Time)
I could talk about my love for this show and especially Mary Margaret Blanchard for hours. But we don’t have that kind of time here so if you want that kinda talk we will meet up for coffee!
Let’s talk about how much I love the way this woman can rock a coat and hat and look feminine while keeping warm. As a Wisconsin/Minnesota girl, this is no easy task. Mary Margaret makes me want to knit up a ton of new hats to go with every scarf/coat I own to get me through the grueling winter months ahead.
Maybe you don’t watch OUAT and look at the clothes because you’re too busy crying and fidgeting and freaking out over what is going to happen next…. but next time just take a glance at the perfect ensembles the characters are wearing while fighting to live and tell me you don’t want a beret. Just try.
Have a wonderful (fashionable) week my friends!
