There's no need to be lonely

By: Kaitlyn

I didn't know what I was going to write about today. I was about to write about birds (maybe I will later), but that seemed a little floozy for right now.

Then I thought about loneliness. I'm an outgoing person, but I'm definitely an introvert. I need my alone time to recoup my thoughts. But lately, that alone time has become too long and I've had moments where I've felt completely lonely. And maybe it has to do with the fact that I live in a place where I don't know anyone anymore; at least that's the excuse I've given myself.

But then I realized that that justification for my loneliness is a load of codswallop.

There are billions upon billions of people in the world for me to talk to and interact with. I love people. People all around me that I've never talked to are inspiring, crazy, and great. Yet, I was stuck thinking that I didn't know anyone around me. That's no excuse for not knowing them.

The experience of talking to a perfect stranger is one of life's greatest treasures, I think. I came across this video from SoulPancake, which totally reinforced my belief in that:

You can have the most amazing and life-changing conversations with strangers if you just dare to. That daring will pay off.

There is no excuse to be alone in the world. No one is. We just have to go out and be bold enough to have new conversations with new people. Let's go start some conversations!

Oh, hello!

Oh, hello!
