Onto the reviews!

Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell (2013)

Review: It was love at first sight with this book - literally. I love the simplistic cover, and I adored the story. Set in the 80s, this love story is different from other traditional YA love stories. There's no annoying love triangle and the characters are believable and well-developed. An unlikely pair, I found myself rooting for both Eleanor and Park. And with an author's name like Rainbow Rowell, I knew this book had to be worthwhile.
Pages: 328
Rating: 5/5 stars
Recommendation: I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an easy, adorable, believable love story. I think John Green fans will love this book.

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore - Robin Sloan (2012)

Review:
THIS BOOK GLOWS IN THE DARK!!!! However, besides that exciting tidbit, I was rather underwhelmed by this book. I heard from so many people that this book was wonderful and perfect and everything I needed in a book. Nothing really grabbed me, though. I didn't feel a connection to the characters (they were under-developed) and the story was a bit boring. I was disappointed. The writing was great, though, and I did finish it, so that says something.
Pages: 288
Rating: 3/5 stars
Recommendation: I recommend this book to anyone who loves bookstores.

The Bling Ring - Nancy Jo Sales (2013)
DSC_0991
Review:
This is a wonderful piece of journalism. Seriously. I hope to one day have a chance to write something like this. Nancy Jo Sales is great at her craft and keeps her opinion out of her stories, something I occasionally struggle with. Being obsessed with pop culture and the Bling Ring in general, I couldn't put this book down. It was awesome to delve into the minds of these criminals. If you plan on seeing the movie, I would say see it before reading the book (the book is way better and sort of dulled-down the film for me).
Pages: 259
Rating: 4/5 stars
Recommendation: I recommend this book to those obsessed with pop culture. And Lauren.
