For the Love of Birds

By: Kaitlyn

Well, here it is, the post that I previewed in my last one: all about birds. I know, ya'll are SOOO excited.

But here's the thing: I LOVE birds. Like a lot.

I daydream about having Disney Princess capabilites of  being a bird magnet and singing to them all day long. Forget about cats. I'm probably going to be a crazy old bird lady when I grow up.

Now, most of my friends hate birds, mostly because they're terrified of them. I blame Alfred Hitchcock. I mean, come on, that movie was horrifying.

But today, I'm going to try to change all of your bird-fear-filled minds because here's some reasons why birds are totally awesome.

1. They can fly. Well, most of them. And I think it's because of this that most people are afriad of them. Things that fly can sometimes be unpredictable. But that's why birds are so cool. They can fly and go anywhere. They have the entire world to explore and are completely free (unless they're in cages). Flying is such an amazing skill, how can you not just look at them in awe?

2. They hop. and bop. Da Hop Bop is a classic bird move. The next dance craze? I hope so. Birds hop around bopping their heads everywhere. I just can't get enough of it.

3. Puffy, fat birds are the cutest thing on the face of the planet.

4. There is literally nothing better than waking up to a whole chorus of birds outside your window in the morning. Nothing.

5. They're always singing. Their life is a musical. Jealous.

6. They're so colorful! How can you hate anything with that much color?

7. Some can mimic sounds. That's pretty awesome. And without this, Katniss may have never made it out of the Hunger Games alive. So...there's that.

8. They're some of the best characters ever! (ex. Kevin from Up, Fawkes the Phoenix, etc.)

9. They always seem so happy and content with their lives. I think that we can all take a page out of whatever book they're reading.

This list may make me sound like a crazy person, but that's okay. I take full responsibilty of that. I just ask that the next time you see a bird you don't run away. Because they're great if you just give them a chance.
