Are you ready to 'meet world'?

By: Sarah

Having been born four days into the 90s, I'd consider myself a true blue "90s Kid". I was a master at the art of the Skip-It. I read every single Bailey School Kids book in my Pocahontas tent or lounging in my inflatable (most likely deflated) furniture. I once tried to put the entire six feet of Bubble Tape in my mouth. I lived and breathed the 90s.

Arguably one of the greatest products of the 90s was the hit sitcom, Boy Meets World, running from 1993-2000. I loved this show, as did many other people. So much, in fact, that 13 years later, a new sitcom is about to be born. Riley Matthews, the daughter of Cory and Topanga, is about to make her way into the hearts of 90s kids everywhere. That's right, Girl Meets World.

I don't know when this magnificent piece of television history is starting, but here is what I know:

About three weeks ago, Ben Savage instagrammed this picture:

This is when I, and many others, started to freak out. I had heard rumors about a Boy Meets World spin-off, but this actually confirmed its reality.

There was also this picture, tweeted by Danielle Fishel:
Cory and Topanga back together. It really is a 90s dream come true.

Eleven-year-old Rowan Blanchard will be playing Riley Matthews. She instagrammed this picture of her and Ben Savage. The resemblance is actually uncanny:

Along with Riley, the Matthews have a son, Elliot, played by Teo Halm. He instagrammed this picture with Topaga, played by Danielle Fishel. Once again, uncanny:

Other characters from the show will hopefully be appearing in the sequel, as well. Unfortunately, Shawn Hunter, played by Rider Strong, has said that he won't be a part of it. Excuse me while I wipe up the buckets of tears flowing from my eyes. But, let's all keep our fingers crossed that Eric Matthews, played by Will Friedel, will be joining the crew. He has neither denied nor confirmed yet. Come on guys, we need some of that "I don't care about anything because I've got really cool hair" attitude on the show.

And we can't forget about Feeny. FEENY! FE-HE-HE-HE-HEENY.

Mr. George Feeny, played by William Daniels, has been confirmed to be in the sitcom's pilot episode. This is wonderful news. Through the whole series of Boy Meets World, Mr. Feeny helped Cory grow in ways that not even his parents could. I can only imagine how he will impact Cory's daughter.

To top it all off, Ben Savage instagrammed this picture, indicating that the show will be filmed in front of a live audience:

Anyone know how I can get tickets? Seriously.

Boy Meets World taught me so many things about life. Watching Cory and Topanga throughout the show made me believe in love and that everything will end up ok in the end. Plus, the show was hilarious. Re-watching it now, in my 20s, I catch so much that I missed when I was a kid. It was a show for everyone, which is what I think made it so wonderful. I've got high hopes for Girl Meets World, especially with the junk that is produced for kids today like on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.

I'm willing to bet 10 Caramel Apple Pops, 40 Warheads and all my Pokemon cards that this show will be a hit.

My questions to you are:
1. Did you also love Boy Meets World?
2. What character would you most like to see return to the show?

Here's to you, Girls Meets World. And here's to hoping there's a Full House or Friends spin-off soon.

Oh, hello!
